David Quirk.

Headlines in today's Examiner `Quirk: I won't work with Peter Karran`. He wants to remember he is representing the same people as Peter Karran and he only poled half the votes of Peter Karran, so is very much the junior partner. If that is his attitude and he is going to dilute the voting strength of Onchan in the Keys would he be better of resigning now and give the voters a chance to replace him with someone who has the common good of Onchan at heart.

Surely, therefore, DQ needs to relinquish any Govt role and take his place on the back benchers. Then he can scrutinise the Government (which now includes Karran) and provide opposition, if he finds him so repulsive.

Alternatively, he might miss the £10k a year.

He just feels cheated. Brown told him the way to advancement in Tynwald was to vote with him everytime. Then Peter Karran does exactly the opposite gets more votes than him, two friends and a better job.

What must the voters in Onchan be thinking now, have we made a mistake, should we voted for someone else?.

Why don't these people make these statements before the election, instead of when they are in for 5 years, but as Censorship says,he won't be a loss.

Liked his manifesto - "It is very easy to get publicity by constantly criticising government policy, but I

believe it is more constructive to work pro-actively with others in Government

and make a positive influence from within"

Ah the first overpaid flounce of the new government

OK Quirk, vote with your feet instead of stamping them

But you won't because it'll cost you

Carry on throwing toys out of your Pram instead

Strikes me that Quirk spitting his dummy out is a poor example to the children his ex department is meant to nourish. The wife is a teacher and said that if that happened in her class the relevant kid would be told tough, lifes's not fair etc., get on with it and work with who you've been told to work with.

Quirk = piss poor example to the rest of us

The people of Onchan will rue the day they elected this man back into the House of Keys. The word idiot is overused, but this man is an idiot. The civil servants who work in the departments he has been a member of despair of him. He's in well over his head and he knows it. Just about fit for local government, never a national politician.

There's probably not that much which can be said about it. The whole thing just seems a little baffling: has Quirk even been asked to work with Karran in the Department of Education?
