Freya Q 13
To the off duty policeman who went out of his way to help my Nan yesterday I just wanted to say thankyou. I know you didnt want me to post on this forum but ..well here it is. My Nan is 90 and was getting hassle from local lads. Her hero not only sorted them out but he came back, got Nan's shopping and carried it to her house and gave her a contact number for his wife. Thanks ever so much Sorry if Ive embarressed you Edited January 20, 2012 by Freya Q

somewhatdamaged 85
Well done to that policeman! Not impressed to hear that local lads are giving hassle to a 90 year old woman. Hear enough about this sort of thing in the UK and don't want these sort of events on the Island. I hope they get dealt with accordingly
Pierrot Lunaire 2,276
I don't believe this story. What hassle was the old dear getting? I suspect the OP has a penchant for men in uniforms. With truncheons.
Snowflake 83
Good for him! We need more like that!
Nitro 20
Sorry if Ive embarressed you Why would the PC be embarrased?, unless outside of uniform he considers himself a different person that was just doing a good deed and a fuss shouldn't be created? thebees 2,811
When I feel the need to say "Thank you." to people I generally write a letter or make a phone call. I can see Thommo2010 is reading the thread so maybe he will pass the message on....there can't be that many helpful policemen in the Islands force, shouldn't take a detective to work out who it was
wrighty 5,857
I think it's very 'OK' to offer thanks. Far too much complaining goes on, and the truth is that if you want to get the best out of people positive reinforcement works far better than whinging and moaning. The carrot works better than the stick.
