Glen Truan Golf Course

Is it on the old landfill site?

Wasn't it just barren land, or farm land, and they decided to build a golf course?

When it was built (2001?) it actually looked like it could be a good tough layout given time, though it was in shocking condition, with greens that were basically just mown bits of farmland.

Interesting to see it's survived, I couldn't see where they were going to get the members from with its location. Will have to give it a whirl next time I'm over.

Played there a few times, so much potential but half the course is in really awful condition, fairways not cut and greens in a mess. It's a shame because it really is a lovely spot on a nice day.

A fantastic spot, beautifully laid out, spectacular views, has everything going for it. Could and should have been a large and vibrant membership there by now, but the greenfees and subscriptions are overpriced and have deterred many from playing there and joining. A real shame, it could be the nicest course on the Island.
