Lottery Winners On Isle Of Man

Recommended Posts

Whoever they are, nd wherever they are from, here's hoping people leave them alone and let them enjoy their good fortune.

Unfortunately, in typical IOM style it is more likely that sad people will broadcast the winners identities to the world, and people wil begrudge them any pleasure they get from any material items they purchase or any change of lifestyle they can enjoy.

Good luck to them I say. £500k each is life changing for most people bubtnot exactly a huge amount depending on their ages.

Why should they move out, they are eligable for a corpy house and could stay, but then why would they?

£500.000 would only get you a 3 bed house on the island. Pay off credit cards and gifts to family, start a business, holiday (obligatory), new clothes and cars, all gone in 6 months.

Not have savings in excess of £50,000

Anyone that blows a £500K lump sum and still needs to be in a council house - needs their heads testing. Hopefully, as available to all lottery winners, they will take advantage of the free investment advice there is on offer.

Yet another reason to be anonymous after a win. I don't know why half these idiots let people know who they are...life becomes a misery for most of them once they do that, especially the younger ones who will be suspicious of every subsequent relationship.

Winning the lottery is not always a good thing for people, especially stupid people.

yea, let them enjoy their riches. they've had the benefit of a cheap house for years now, its their home, wtf should they give it up. I'm sure that sentiment will be shared by the 100's on the waiting lists currently paying £500 plus per month for private rental.

I know them both personally and neither of them even have a council house!!! Some people are just disgraceful on this island for making assumptions without knowing any facts. They are both 'pully boys' born and raised in the area, with family still there. Why can't some people just be happy that, 2 hard working young men got lucky and wish them all the best?
