***CALL OUT***24th March 2013 13:00 hours. Team members requested to evacuate one adult and one child from a property with no power at Cronk Y Voddy. Due to extremely adverse driving conditions team members walked approximately 1/2 mile through deep snow to the property. Upon arriving at the property team members were requested to make their way to another property on the Starvey Road to assist the IoM Fire & Rescue Service & Civil Defence members with the evacuation by helicopter of an elderly lady. Once on scene Peel Coastguard team members assisted by Douglas Coastguard team members set up a helicopter landing site and provided coms with Rescue 122 from RAF Valley. Casualty was safely transferred by Helicopter to Nobles Hospital. Peel Coastguard team members then safely evacuated the adult and child from the property at Cronk Y Voddy. Team returned to station and stood down at 17:00 hours. We would like to thank all members of all the emergency services, DOI staff and MEA staff for the excellent work they have done in extremely difficult conditions over the past few days and days to come.
