The convention is either can be used. My preference would be Jones's book etc.


So the sign is not wrong, however, a more elegant way of doing it would be to name the bend McGuinness, without a possessive.

@studmuffin I agree that using hashtags to "provide colorful commentary as a sort of “muttered into a handkerchief” aside, to give context and to convey humor or sarcasm.", per @susanorlean is the spawn of the devil. (Link is an interesting item on various uses of hashtags on mashable)



However, using them to join a conversation, e.g. if you're attending the Macao Gaming Show (random example from my spambox) and you're tweeting about it, using #MGS2014 will help your tweet turn up in searches.
