Doctor Who Fans Crash Star Wars Convention Amid Assault Claims

strong with you the force is mmmmm?

Yes. George Lucas is a legend. Star Wars is a very deep modern expression of universal mythological motifs, inspired by the writings of Joseph Campbell (e.g. The Hero With a Thousand Faces). Top class story-telling, film-making and acting. I just can't fathom why anyone would prefer the boring, talentless, poorly-written, badly acted tripe known as Dr Who.

I love the whole genre, love the whole jedi/sith thing.

Some people know where they were when 911 happened, but my world turned upside down when a mate told me that Palpatine was also Darth Sidious. Nothing else mattered but figuring out how I missed it the first time around. Poor Yoda, fancy missing a Sith lord right in front of your nose. But so did I.

I also love the Doctor Who thing too, it deals with other issues, society addressed as fiction. sometimes way way too subtle for the uninitiated. read some wacky authors and watch Dr Who again, the authors are trying to say stuff there is no other way to say.

Oh and Tolkien's books are brilliant on several levels too. But you have to see it for yourself.

Terry Nation is a brilliant guy, he wrote Blake's 7 and invented the Daleks. The nasty baddie Servalan heartless murderous power crazed fruitloop strikes me as a bit like MDO on MFwink.png

I love science fiction..Isaac Asimov etc. but you guys, seriously....are your lives that banal that you TJ will watch soap operas at all and moreover a soap opera that 'makes you want to reach for razor blades', and you GD....'your world turned upside down when you found out Palpatine was Darth Sidious.... it was obvious from very early on and I bet you got a hard-on when you found out Hollywood was making a Transformers Movie.w00t.gif

I met David Tennant once - he's lovely.

What a dumb post! Do you know what fans of Star Wars, Star Trek and other sci-fi fantasies have in common (other than the fact that they're nearly all male)? Their virginity.

Both reasonably good kiddies films - both relying more on special effects than any real plot or characterisation.

I do not watch soap operas. I was forced to watch them when I was staying with a family member at one point. Also, I agree, it was pretty obvious Palpatine was the emperor when they were played by the same bloody actor (Ian McDiarmid). But I really despised the new Star Wars movies. Jaja ruined everything, as did the poor acting skills of Natalie Portman (I love her as a person, though) and that other idiot Christiansen?

I'm just toying with you and GD, did your family member hold you at gunpoint or tie you up?.

The new batch of Star Wars were pathetic, the characters were all very disposable Darth Maul, Count Dooku, General Grievous to name but a few. I think that although the original films didn't have the technology of computer graphics etc. they had depth and a kind of 'soul'.

The original movies had good acting and screenplays written by good writers.

The reason movies have gone down hill in recent years is because Hollywood is no longer controlled by Jews, but is now run by mega corporations who don't have "soul"; they just reduce everything to the lowest common denominator --- sex, violence and special effects --- to get the most people into the box offices for short term gain. A legendary movie like Gone With The Wind (still the highest grossing film of all time) or Casablanca simply could not be made today.

this is the sort of post which has a window of hilarity between 12 midnight and 4 am while nissed as a pewt.

the morbidly obese guy at the top must be a star wars fan as he is far too big to get into a tardis and must live nextdoor to a food store typically Fatboys diners.

As for the Simpsons show comic book guy, this appears to be a fairly accurate depiction of dr who fans based upon extensive research and massive global data analysis. In fact in my own life I wanted to test the waters on a klingon lifestyle so dug up some worms and presented them to my family with words "sop gakh". Imagine my distress when they told me to fuck off.

Not sure who the freaky looking alien is or why he wants a fight after passing through a Sontaran portal, please explain?

At least he hasn't claimed that his chosen specialist subject if he ever went on Mastermind would be the complete works of Blake's 7!

I apologise if you aren't a he but I can't imagine a girl learning Klingon ; they would be far more interested in mastering Princess Leia'.s hairstyles

Bobs - funny

Endometriosis - nasty

MDO - sensible

I presume Endo your humour is based on making people feel like kak, this was a funny thread where people were playing around. Girls love science fiction too but you probably scare them into keeping quiet thus confirming your delusional view.
