There is an amazing thread of Facebook.....help to get around the Isle of Man during T.T. week, lots of people asking for lifts and load of offers to give lifts so if you need transport to work, hospital or shopping just register online and the organisers will put you in contact with someone offering help. It is going great guns especially for people out of town who are wanting to car share. Power to the people.

Needs must I suppose so its a good idea that proves the value of social media. As Snowflake says though I hope no lifts are being offered to bus drivers families etc. To strike for 12 days when the Island is at its busiest just shows what a bunch of greedy bastards these people are.

But what if some mad axe murderer or nutter with a chainsaw uses it to get women into his white truck? crying.gif

It's all very well displaying the old spirit of Dunkirk - but the decision to cause maximum inconvenience to the community and visitors beggars belief. I have had great sympathy for the bus drivers but this is a very poor decision and will probably quash the little support that is still out there. I remain hopeful that the strike will be called off .... and that no-one will need to thumb a lift. Can you imagine the chaos that could cause along our roads when they are packed with bikes? Come on bus drivers - call it off.
