Was on the boat recently and the connection was shocking, to the point I went back and asked for a refund.

Are they using dial up on the boat lol

I'm sure they'd get more business if their subscription included the steam racket 'service'

Could you put some sot of internet repeater on these wind turbines, or anchor one to one of them?

But there is 3G for most of the route to and from England on the boat.

Do you pay roaming charges for 3g?

Not if you use a local sim whatever country you are.

So as Douglas goes over the horizon switch over to a UK sim. Soon enough you'll be back online again.

I've got broadband through Wi-Manx. But after an hour my computer says that it cannot access microsoft.com and then when you re-set the modem it just has an exclamation mark on the wireless icon. It can happen 5 or 6 times of an evening and you just have to wait until it connects again. Pain in the neck. Is Wi-Manx reknowned for this?

Sounds like your router is having problems have you spoke to Wimanx?

You will likely find its not Wimanx which is at fault but the router / wireless connection.

I've never had down time with Wimanx and am online about 6-16hours a day.

Sounds like an ailing router more than anything else.

Wimanx support are great so just give them a call.
