To be fair, just about everything which made us unique and interesting has long gone. Washed away in misguided attempts to 'modernise' and move with the times.

Right up there with Stonehenge thumbsup.gif . In centuries to come people will look back and wonder - at a point in history of known austerity on the Island, why were stones shipped in from hundreds if not thousands of miles away and laid in intricate patterns on the streets? It must have cost millions at a time when the peasants were being taxed for going to the toilet. It just makes no sense, why was it done? Some for of Pagan worship or something.

Isle of Lewis is great, gorgeous scenery, stunning beaches, great surf, super pubs, friendly people. And it doesn't really get dark in the summer. And there are big owls. Sundays there are bizarre, like something from 100 years ago, everyone dressing up for church, nothing open etc. It's ace.
