Amadeus
Annual gaming conference in full swing and plenty of Manxies here again. MT, IOMG, Domi, etc... http://instagram.com/p/lJpusyIWGB/ IOM still considered as very respected jurisdiction. MT already held a talk yesterday and new IoMG egaming bloke has his tomorrow. Might soundcloud it if there's interest. I also apologize for posting some positive news about IOM peeps working hard to promote business in Asia. Also, if you think going to Macau is a jolly, think again. Morning to evening conference and Macau itself sucks, unless you like spending time in casinos. It's a cold, rainy, grey and nondescript Chinese city. I can also assure you that I have not seen any IoM reps, taxpayer paid or otherwise, having any fun. They're all miserable and if I see one smiling, I shall smack them straight away!
Bobbie Bobster
Non-anonymous forum poster announces non-government bashing topic. How refreshing!
Roger Mexico
What no Alex Downie? It can't be a proper Conference if the ligger extraordinaire hasn't made a showing. Edited March 5, 2014 by Roger Mexico

Karellen
Macau itself sucks There used to be a delightful Portuguese bakery there, close to the ruins of St Pauls, that sold fresh Pastel de Nata every morning. Probably long gone. Is the St Paul's facade still standing, or has it been bulldozed for a casino?

2112
What no Alex Downie? It can't be a proper Conference if the ligger extraordinaire hasn't made a showing. In case it may have slipped your attention, Alex Downie was taken from E-Gaming, Shipping, Aircraft and Space and shuffled off to Treasury. To be fair to Alex Downie at least he shows an interest in his portfolio and responsibilities, and has brought business back to the Island! This business translates into jobs and money being spent in the economy. How many MHKs or MLCs are prepared to be 'hands on' or even get their hands dirty in order to publicise the Island and hopefully get business to relocate here? Most Of our so called politicians are after the glory, credit and being patted on the head by Bell, who will say well done and throw them a bone Or dangle a carrot
Mission
Shame they didn't time it to coincide with the Macau Grand Prix, that would have been handy.
Amadeus
Wouldn't have time if it did. All day conference. Will try and come back for it in November. Won't stay at the Venetian then, though. Place sucks.

Pierrot Lunaire
You have a talking cow? Not talking - sucking. But careful now, Amadeus doesn't like bestiality jokes. With him in. ; ))
Tarne
Looks like every conference I know. I do enjoy the beer and free food though, and tasty sales birds Still good that the IOM is involved with this, considering the amount of money involved in gambling! ScotsAlan
Your just across the river from me. Pop over for a beer on your way back :-) I wouldn't describe Macau as a grey Chinese city though. Mainland grey cities are greyer than John Major. Excellent that you are there indirectly representing the Island. Definitely a good news post from Amadeus :-)

They're all miserable and if I see one smiling, I shall smack them straight away! Good, a really good news story, makes a nice change. This forum has become just so negative about everything the government does/ has planned that to be honest, it is not worth reading anymore. It is just pages and pages of negative drivel, the few decent posters that could see the other side of the argument seem to have stopped posting, is there any wonder? In another thread people are discussing protecting jobs for locals, the whole forum is an example of negative, dont let anyone climb out of the basket crabbiness the island suffers from. Come on people, the island is doing OK, better than lots of places and I dont see anyone going hungry, the government are doing the best they can with the limited room for affecting the economy that they have at their disposal, tax raising ways. If an alien came down and read this forum they would be of the opinion that the island is about to sink and is inhabited by a bunch of moaners who not only just moan all the time but dont have the slightest idea how to do things differently, just the way it is being done now is wrong in their opinion but they dont offer an alternative, that is really constructive...............................
