NoTail 1,972
When SIB collapsed I remember depositors on the street with placards etc - remember Gwelda Lamb?
GD4ELI 2,741
Ooh, placards. Now I'm scared . I do remember actually, was advised at the time to never keep more than a few k in a Manx bank.
Flubbergump 189
So 4 months later and its produced nothing. I guess there's just nothing worth leaking here.
Matt Bawden 622
There's a few with weak bladders on MF so I guess there'll be a fair few leaks.

censorship 1,683
Baffling isn't it, what with all the scandals we are told are waiting to be exposed by investigative journalism
Wann 1,258
It's not really baffling. Why would anyone want to divulge anything to anonymous people just because they have a website with the word leaks in it?

Why would anyone want to divulge anything to anonymous people just because they have a website with the word leaks in it? Yes, this is probably the explanation. Perhaps if those behind it were to step out of the shadows so we can see who they are and if the intentions really are honest the flood of hidden scandals we are promised will come flooding out. Flubbergump 189
Apparently they are professional individuals with backgrounds in business, journalism and law. And yet not comfortable enough in their chosen professions to let their reputation stand before them by naming themselves. Ho Hum
Merkin 1,051
If only would start a website like Amazon but only for the Isle of Man that would surely be a huge success.

Not baffling. There is just nothing to come out along the lines or scale expected here for years. If there was, there would be no need for a Manx leaks site. It could easily be released onto the internet anonymously from off Island and locals alerted. Too many vivid imaginations.
Wankleaks 821
The image problem Manxleaks has is easy to analyse. They said they are a team of experts in journalism, law, and business ....... so they sound exactly like the clique of dodgy bastards in the media, legal, and business circles who have really been responsible for hiding the real dirt that's been going on here for years. Why would people disclose to persons unknown from that sort of group? They might as well said "We are a team of secretive but enthusiastic Masonic journalists and lawyers, but we're the good guys honest. Not the other ones who are doing all of this stuff in the first place ... "
asitis 5,522
If it were possible for a site such as this (Manxleaks) to be truly secure and free from the consequences of ip address chasing and litigious lawyers, then it may be that some interesting stuff would be posted, however as it is not going to ever work like that nothing will ever surface ! Thomas Jefferson 2,560
To prove their sincerity, why don't they just re-publish on their website all the old Manx Black Pages material for all to read?
Wann 1,258
I could talk to Roly, and often did. I first met him when Blackpages was still 'anonymous' at a social occasion. Anyway, as it transpired it soon became common knowledge who was the writer of the pages anyway. There was no need for Roly Drower to be anonymous. Erm, was there.....?
