Standard get out would be 'approved before I was in charge'.

AB likes to shuffle the pack every few months so we get confused as to who was in charge and when.

Move on would be good for a Manx round about.

It's a give way, not a stop for some you can just about make out coming over the horizon

Who has been responsible for this latest mega waste? . We will never find out.

I'm going to blame Phil Gawne anyway!

In fact what would really finish it off would be a 4-5metre high sculpture of a hand holding a gas fed lighted match, underneath a frying pan with NO queenies in it. Fixed

Considering the location and the potential Port Erin is a f**king disgrace despite a new roundabout. Where else in the British Isles...

Port Erin, Peel, Ramsey, Castletown, Douglas.

Given the location of Port Erin - you get the evening sun - it is staggering that this building has been empty for so long.

Golf Links. Grand Island. Port Soderick.

Amazing, disgraceful, shameful.

I heard one of the island's e-gaming companies is renting it to wire up an octopus to make predictions for the next world cup.

You're all so cynical. The new gateway is a wonderful introduction to the secret 20 mph speed limit that prevails on the roads into Port Erin and Port St Mary. Braking when faced with oncoming traffic optional.

And has been operating for several days now without any ' Government painted instructions ' of how to get round a Roundabout. I now await the arrival of 500 gallons of paint ( assorted colors ) and a couple of dozen new Road Signs to instruct all us plebs how to stay on the road, and how to use this wonderful new ' Gateway '. ( we are indeed blessed ) What a disgusting waste of time and money, and how much extra have all the balls ups cost? Who has been responsible for this latest mega waste? . We will never find out.

That is almost guaranteed to come still. It needs at least 20 signs warning you of a 'roundabout' ahead despite the fact you can't miss a huge concrete circle with a massive anchor on top of it that fills the middle of the junction. Then maybe an unused cycle lane that starts halfway down the road by the level crossing and takes up at least 1/3 of the available road space holding up traffic flow, and which bizarrely ends 50 yards after the roundabout for no apparent reason and with no explanation. Together with a big concrete road Island with a light up bollard on it in the middle of the road every 200 yards or so. Also a few signs warning of 'signs' ahead just in case signs really confuse drivers. Also have you seen how many manhole covers are plastered over that junctions? I tried to count them the other days and there are loads. So maybe a few 'warning manhole' signs just in case there are 3 people who live in the Island who have an irrational fear of manhole covers!

WTF is it a gateway to ?

Such is the planning failure on the island that three prime locations I can think of instead of being assets to the island are derelict eyesores (Pt Sod,Golf Links,Pt Erin) Government should be bending over backwards to encourage these buildings to be brought back into use not placing obstacles in the way of anyone who wishes to do so.

The interference of Government in almost every aspect of our lives has brought this island to its knees !

You have to ask, just what kind of little world do some of these so called planners actually live in.

The excuse for nothing happening of note in the south has been awaiting the new Southern Plan, we now have a Southern Plan but no money to do anything. I will be leaving shortly to drive on roads akin to a rural third world, interspersed with showcase traffic islands and paying large rates and car tax not to mention a tax for the loo in order to do so.

What an incompetent shower of empire builders we employ to keep us in check. Time for an election of some 'can do' people not a continuation of the secretive self serving elite who swan around full of their own importance we have now !!

The electorate needs to wake up before it is too late !

Need more coffee rant mode off !!

of all the things to stick in the middle of a roundabout for drivers to crash into an ANCHOR has to be one of the most unsafe things to hit out there ( but it is pretty ). a big bean bag would be a better option, or bouncy castle??
