Addie 1,388
One does wonder what on earth people are getting up to inside these fortified offices. Are they trading blood diamonds, passing over briefcases full of cash or printing money? Probably only playing Tetris but who knows. And then you also have the private offices... AcousticallyChallenged 1,225
To be fair, there are some organisations on the Island dealing with either large amounts of money or lots of confidential information, both of which you don't want to be pinched. ID badges just help to lower the risk, it makes it harder for social engineers, not that there would be many, given the size of the Island, but with bigger firms, it may be their national or international policy to always wear visible ID.
Bananaman 161
I wouldn't honestly want to be in a position or work for a company where they were needed. I had fun http://www.raf.mod.uk/

Whatsername 67
Mine goes on before work and comes off after work it's not a case of "hey look at me and look where I work", ours is basically a "key" to swipe us through several doors and I certainly can't be assed taking it off at lunchtime just to please someone who is offended by them, oh and I then couldn't get back in to work!! Thomas Jefferson 2,560
The main reason I won't wear a staff ID card around my neck (in and out of work [unless made to by internal policy]) is because I'm paranoid that doing so would cause people to think I was "advertising" myself out. Like, "hey, check me out, here's my name, look me up". We all know there are creeps out there like that who think they're God's gift to women. It's the same reason why I don't go to the gym. Also, I feel that wearing an ID card, when viewed in the context of a system of wage slavery and indentured servitude, is a bit like being "branded" as someone else's property.
