Those figures are tournament chips bees. In tournaments you pay an entry fee, and that cash is exchanged for a set number of chips, everyone plays till one player is left standing, and in this case the top 55 players all received some sort of payout. The winner gets around £65,000

He won't be too "gutted" adding over 30k to his bank balance.

Locals took home about 50k from the main event, a local got 2nd in the PLO.

Quite a few got in the prizes (aka cashed) in a few of the side events including a local win in the first ever combined chess/poker tournament.

All in all it was a great weekend for local poker and the local economy.

Poker has a new fan :) Forget music as my mid life crisis muahhhahahahaha...... all I need to do now is learn to play Poker. This time next year we're going to buy the Castlemona and turn it into a mahoosive Poker den, we'll get lap dancers (male and female), have darts boards, bouncy castles, bowling alleys and a library :) Poker FTW.

Hello Poker, good bye house etc....... on second thoughts...... pass me that Clarinet.
