Gladys 7,549
Bloody hell, John, that sounds nightmarish. Hope you get home soon and are able to recover comfortably in your own home.
sauin91 128
Don't they have cash machines in Bulgaria?
John Wright 8,369
Yes, but most cards have daily limits and most bulgarian machines only dispense 400 lev maximum per transaction.I'm not mobile. Multiple use of a card in a machine here will block your card on the fraud algorithm

And I have to say...it just had to happen didn't it? And as for believing anything that insurance companies say is foolhardy bordering on recklessness. Their primary function is to collect premiums, everything else is irrelevant! Best wishes and a speedy recovery, but Bulgaria...dear oh dear. TBT.

John Wright 8,369
AXA have relented at 02.00 and booked me on Tuesday's flight to Manchester. Whole row to myself. Paul is booked on Steam Packet to Heysham and will meet me with car at Manchester and we get the 19.30 SeaCat home later today.. Wrightp and his wonderful secretary have given me an allotment at the next fracture clinic. I've got the bulgarian x Rays so the extent of damage and effectiveness of rebuild can be assessed. And physio and rehab commence. Sorry I moaned. It's been a painful and frightening few days. I'm glad I don't work for AXA at their Chicago call centre and that I didn't meet myself. I tried nice, it didn't work. I tried pushy and that didn't work either. It was only when I shouted that they listened at all. And my solution is £1000 cheaper than theirs. John Wright 8,369
I've never before realised the money made by middle men organisers and Palm greasers in the US medico legal insurance field. Last bit of my jigsaw. Need ambulance to airport. Get rung out of blue by Oliver on a 202 area code wanting credit card details for ambulance. As AXA had told me to pay the ambulance direct and claim back i asked how much. He suggested a figure near 500US. As I'd booked my own direct for 50 lev, (£20) I suggested a large unjustified profit somewhere. His response was know how and contacts. I've reported him and his firm to AXA

John Wright 8,369
Flew out morning of 7th, series of work meetings, after end of final one standing talking. Somonr stumbled, bumped into me, I lost balance and cartwheeled down a set of concrete steps and landed awkwardly. Hear bones go crack. Ouch. Was due back on 8th. Sorry I high jacked the thread. Double Hijack. Steampacket were great yesterday parked me near the lift, provided a wheel chair, plus sailor to push me around, nothing too much trouble.
