Embellished or not, it shows the dangers of our island being viewed as a racing track to visitors. How many copy cats will this inspire?

Anywhere between none and some. Probably closer to none.

A bit naïve there I think, not being rude, ( I hope)

I really don't think he's done himself any favours, at 1 or 2 degrees Celsius the possibility of ice at 5.30am is highly likely, 180mph along Sulby straight? not a fucking chance, he'd of driven into the back of a gritter as they normally leave the yard around that sort of time.

"I saw 180mph down Sulby Straight, one of the fastest sections of the course, and the car wasn’t even in top gear"

Is Sulby Straight unrestricted? I'm sure it isn't. Guy Martin is a dick.

Its becomes a 40 just before the Sulby Glen Hotel and then changes to a 30 just before Ballabrooie. It remains a 30 till just past the Ginger Hall when it becomes a 50.

I get this message.

Error!

We're ever so sorry, An error has occured please rest assured our web team are working on fixing the problem.

Its working ok here, Its basically Guy Martin saying he did a 22 minute lap of the TT course on open roads, with air temperature reading 1 or 2 degrees and that he reached 180mph along the Sulby straight.

No such thing as bad publicity I suppose.

Motorcycle news did a similar thing (approx 10 years ago?) and they were bragging how fast their early morning lap was.

Listening to some of the stories in Bushy's Tent over that following week it certainly seemed to have inspired a few copycats. And the storytellers stories got louder and 10mph quicker after each pint.
