Gee Cee
The 3FM news site is currently running with the story - Mountain Road Closed due to Icy Conditions. The police website shows that the road did in fact open 20 hours ago. Why oh why, do we have to put up with these dreadfully misleading headlines? The problem is endemic. The people writing these stories just do not give any thought to how the story will look in a few hours, or a few days. 3FM are not the only guilty party. All the news sites suffer from the same problem. May I suggest that the journalists involved all make a New Year's Resolution to try harder? samster
the problem is not many of the news sites are updated over the weekend. So if something happens on Friday it can be on all weekend!

Is it hard to grasp that a road was closed and was then subsequently re-opened? Should they do another headline announcing "Previously announced closed road is now open?" They are not a public information service like the Police, they just report of things that have happened (like a road closing).

Silentbob
Because there has been nothing newsworthy to replace it with, so it is still there. You blithering idiot.
Max Power
the problem is not many of the news sites are updated over the weekend. So if something happens on Friday it can be on all weekend! Great, so if there is a threat of a nuclear holocaust on Friday afternoon which is cancelled after 5pm, we could all be spending the weekend under the kitchen table?
