To be fair though he is still recovering from being the victim of crime after that bloke broke in and stole all his payslips.

She is,

I don't agree at all. The police are using social media effectively when required, but don't want to post premature or unfounded information there to start a panic.   Nobody can stop individuals po

There is a very well organized gang of thieves on the island that have been steeling diesel/ central heating oil in very large quantities for a few years now and getting away with it. (Not been reported much for some reason but it is happening) Maybe that lot have followed government advice and diversified?

My mum had her oil tank emptied a couple of times, in the same year, once it was perhaps a week after it had just been filled, prompted her to have a proper lock put on the back door, instead of just a hook and eye latch, a lock on the tank cap, and an automatic light on a sensor in the back yard. The tank hasn't been touched since but the light does a great job of spooking the neighbourhood cats!

You sure she knows how to set the CH timer and thermostats?biggrin.png

Interestingly Lao, there is a not dissimilar scenario going on over in the Manx Mafia game thread.

Those of us with long memorys remember a string of unsolved break-ins years ago that were alleged to be found to be undertaken by certain members of the Constabulary themselves.

I could be wrong, but didn't about 8 bobbies "leave" soon after.

Actually, I think a manxforums.com manx mafia game has no real bearing on real life happenings. I was trying to be facetious.

That said, I do remember the Strand Street 'break-ins' but that doesn't count because everyone agreed to forget about that and not talk about it. Plus, it was a long time ago.

Going back to the original subject of this thread, the facebook IOM breakins page, it seems as though some poor emo kid might get lynched tonight in castletown if he doesn't change out of his black hoodie!

Don't overlook the sound second hand advice from a 20 year vet of the south Chicago pd

Along the lines of they are drug users, there is some strong speed about and that proceeds of the crimes will be getting sold cheap.

Mrs Marple must be shitting herself.
