21 million pounds... Is that even a real amount of money? I've never seen that kind of money and I doubt that I ever will, even considering the figure is mind blowing. I doubt these lot are the first nor the worst, their heads must be wrecked though - ouch. Lol, the whole bleedin' lot of it is absolutely ridiculous!

Still think a modern day Bergerac style drama based here, with emphasis on how we deal with modern money and technology crime would be a great little serial drama. The good guys would always win, of course. Lots of posh boats and planes money trails, the odd bent official bought to justice - sort of thing. Plenty of story lines to be had at the local customs office I'd bet.

A few people seem to be under the impression that this is our usual bending tax rules situation - although a few clearly know better smile.png

This is the real thing. Real proper crime. How exciting!

(That's what it's all about!)

Assuming the arrested ones are in fact guilty and it's not a big cock-up to be blamed on a computer glitch etc.

I suppose that once you get into that kind of activity the amounts don't matter so much. It becomes a challenge to pit your wits and see how much you can get away with. The more sensible way would be to stop while you are ahead!

Ask the majority of Athol Street. Greed knows no bounds.

The name is pretty much common knowledge around the Island now. I think the only difference from earlier cases here and elsewhere is scale.
