j2bad
How many members of UK HMRC / Criminal Investigators are there over here? Must be a good local spend probably as much as some films.
2bees
21 million pounds... Is that even a real amount of money? I've never seen that kind of money and I doubt that I ever will, even considering the figure is mind blowing. I doubt these lot are the first nor the worst, their heads must be wrecked though - ouch. Lol, the whole bleedin' lot of it is absolutely ridiculous!

woolley
I suppose that once you get into that kind of activity the amounts don't matter so much. It becomes a challenge to pit your wits and see how much you can get away with. The more sensible way would be to stop while you are ahead! Mr Shoe
A few people seem to be under the impression that this is our usual bending tax rules situation - although a few clearly know better This is the real thing. Real proper crime. How exciting! (That's what it's all about!)
x-in-man
Still think a modern day Bergerac style drama based here, with emphasis on how we deal with modern money and technology crime would be a great little serial drama. The good guys would always win, of course. Lots of posh boats and planes money trails, the odd bent official bought to justice - sort of thing. Plenty of story lines to be had at the local customs office I'd bet.

Assuming the arrested ones are in fact guilty and it's not a big cock-up to be blamed on a computer glitch etc.

While they're here they could catch the burglars that our lot can't, and make the trip really worthwhile!

I think the only difference from earlier cases here and elsewhere is scale.
