Just when you thought you had heard it all....

Recommended Posts

Rodan is bringing a motion to Tynwald, he wants a committee set up to oversee and investigate the committees already in place. So more jobs for the boys, extra dosh, etc........and no doubt managing to slow down any progressive work the committees are trying to undertake. Ye Gods....... whatever next.crying.gif

Time for Tynwald to renamed Ouroboros?

And the triskelion replaced by the serpent eating its own tail?

But surely managing the conduct, efficiency, and in fact all aspects concerning committees should be absolutely in the remit of the Chief Minister'?

It does rather pose the question just what the horrid little man does to earn his keep.

What we need is a government to oversee our bunch of useless self indulgent t******s.

Its getting very, very, dangerous what they collectively are getting away with in our names whilst lining their own, already well lined pockets.

Peter Karran got it right in keys this week, they are eroding peoples living standards by the day, with all these stealth taxes whilst still steadfastly failing to either bring about political reform or reducing the numbers of MLC's or their own unnecessary numbers.

For an Island of this size and population 32 politicians plus associated hangers on is total lunacy which we can no longer afford.

I just hope people remember all this come 2016.

Let's see what how this transpires. We need more committees that will bring the people into the democratic mix, other than the 10 seconds it takes every 5 years to put a cross next to the name of a person full of promises

There was a very good article on BBC Radio 4 last evening Trial by Select Committee

The CM is responsible for the activities of government. Rodan is referring to Tynwald (ie Parliamentary) committees scrutinizing government, so it isn't Bell's remit. Rodan is (as usual) talking crap however.

They should set up a committee to tell the "Transforming Government" team to get off their computers and actually start doing something.

I think that to have some sort of citizen jury or public committee to oversee the work of both the Minister of Policy & Reform + the 'Transforming Government' team would be a very reasonable idea

In fact I'd be very happy to credit the idea to any politician who might care to pick it up & run with it (apart from that little Quirk git)

With all the pressure coming now from HMRC and other UK agencies I bet a few members of the establishment will have their arses twitching like the clappers now. Hopefully next stop it'll be our elected representatives.

Rubbish. Bell as CM in a non party political assembly has responsibility for amongst other things good governance.

Since the little creep can't, doesn't, or won't grasp that, or maybe doesn't even realise it might explain why he has been so utterly useless.
