If they were short of money to pay for the Tynwald Banquet they could raid the reserve fund, but the cost could be asked under the freedom of information act, oh I forgot it's not law yet, didn't Bell say it would be passed during this year by Tynwald?.

There's a code of practice in place now. Have you asked for the cost or do you prefer just whining like a girl on a web forum?

So you got to wear your rental suit this year then? What were you doing? Opening car doors in the rain, or handing out canapés to your bosses?

Is "code of practise" like saying "within existing budgets"?

In other words, IOMG-speak for "it didn't cost real money, lessons have been learnt"

Royal Assent was granted to the Freedom of Information Act in the June Tynwald sitting.

Now it needs an Appointed Day Order to bring it into force.

It was a horrible day weather wise. Got there at 07:30 to set the stall up, which took about an hour. Rain started coming in just before 10:00 and so did the wind, our gazebo nearly tipped over. An hour later everything we had on display was soaking wet and just after lunch we had had enough so we packed up and went home.

I saw some pictures in the paper (the one of AB was ace smile.png ) it looked like a fairly decent turnout tbh.

Who'd have thought that Allan Bell and Phil Gawne would end up together on Tynwald Hill considering their attitude to the financial sector some years ago?
