Local petrol-heads?

Sorry I missed it now, I didn't think standing out in the wind and rain would be much fun. Presume there won't be one until next year now?

............not that one m'dear. There was a 60ish 3.5 parked between the MGA and the Moggy on the right hand side in front of the museum.

The red one must have arrived after I left, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Mrs Doc had a beige one like your picture 'till she wrote it off backing at high speed into a bollard! lol

I used to enjoy the Rover 2000 shape with the V8!

The straight-6 automatic I had for years, it had gone around the clock when I got it (£200, 1987) but still had fearsome torque and plenty of life left in it. Nice ride.

They had a 1907 steam powered car running and taking people out for a spin and they got a jet engine out and hand cranked it into life, which was fun. smile.png

Not sure if there is anything planned at the museum next month but there will be a display in Market Square on Sunday 6th December for the Ramsey Santa Trail and the museum are taking some of their cars to that. Not sure on times yet but it was 12-4 last year when the cars where parked up on Parliament Street.

Ah right sorry yes, the one with the two tone paint job? I just auto defaulted to 80's Rover haha.

I had a quick skeet inside as I'd heard they had a few new exhibits on display since I was last there and I spotted this one as well...

That's the one like I had! Really comfy old thing with a very weird front suspension, worked well though.

I just glimpsed the steam car disappearing round the back.

.Was the one I thought was a 3.5 your old straight six Quilp?

I ran round in a 100 s for a long time and then I put a BMC 2.2 diesel in it...........sacrilege I know. (I also had a Humber Hawk estate that I put a Zephyr straight six in complete with gearbox.)

Those were the days, oh yes.w00t.gif

I ended up doing a drive-by on my way home from the parents around 10ish. Typical horrid Jurby wind with added rain put us off getting out for a skeet.

Popped back out later though to watch some of the drifting (once the rain calmed down), that was good fun to see as usual.

Yes despite the weather it was worth it. Mine was the F430 - and I was the one who nearly died trying to crank that jet engine.

An enjoyable Sunday morning - glad I dragged myself out of bed for once.

Did anyone see the Aventador? Well, the owner took Shmee round to his place to show him his collection. which included a Shelby GT500, a Ford GT, a Kawasaki H2R and a shitload of competition bikes from various categories (TT MotoGP and others). The Aventador itself is a one of fifty pirelli Edition.

Video on youtube if you want to watch all of the clips he took while he was over clicky
