It is now time for anarchy to kick in on this doomed to die rock.

Highest gas prices in Europe.

Highest electricity prices in Europe.

Highest average cost of

Highest cost of politicians per head of population in Europe

Highest level of lack of respect for said politicians

2016 will not achieve much to change anything whilst our present, ministerial ( hail to the chief and thanks for the 10k buddy) changes.

If there was ever a time when the leg co could improve their standing it would be now, but they are also dependant on our so called leader "The Chief Minister Of Patronage" they are proving how ineffectual and unnecessary they truly are

Not according to Google

Then maybe you shouldn't be allowed to play with computers?

The island may be towards the top of the tables but sure isn't the highest.

Read again properly !! and then factor in the bandit standing charges and I stand by my

I think it is you who needs to read it again - or maybe follow the links to the explanatory notes:

The prices presented cover average prices over a period of six months (semester) from January to June (semester 1 or S1) and from July to December (semester 2 or S2) of each year. Prices include the basic price of the electricity/gas, transmission and distribution charges, meter rental, and other services.

So those standing charges are included.

They basically use an average consumption for a household and then monitor the cost - including standing charges etc for that usage over a 6 month period.

The point of the post was and is still, bringing attention to the ridiculous situation how a branch of our Gov't can condone this type of robbery on the people they are being very well paid to represent.

Whether or not you can (still not proven) tell me of another jurisdiction that permits monopolies to inflict such swinging increases on it's populace at the very beginning of winter is not the issue.

The issue is that many sections of the Manx populace will be hit and hit very hard when they receive their bills come January, and our politicians are actively condoning there actions.

Quirk and Ball must be very proud of themselves, WAN*ERS

There appears to be an upper strata of politicians/civil servants/etc who have completely lost touch with reality. They believe themselves to be part of a 'ruling class', on high salaries and untouchable. the rest of us are underlings and plebs. It is worth noting that when jobs cuts are trumpeted, it would appear to be only plebs who are sacrificed ... never the upper strata.

As an example, we could easily lose our esteemed Director of Public Transport, who has presided over significant capital spending (new fleet of buses and ticketing system), and made numerous significant errors ( the new diesel loco for example ). In the private sector performance such as this would have been rewarded with a sharp and ignominious exit, whereas in Government it's just the piss poor standard that is accepted as normal.

Or, perhaps our director of ports who wasted three million on useless radar system (unless of course it's miraculously working properly now, and the old one decommissioned).
