Petition: Add Manx nationality option to the Isle of Man Census

Recommended Posts

OK - it's a badly worded question. It should be "what is your citizenship?"

I'm English by nationality, but a British citizen in terms of international law.

You can be a Manx national if you want, but you are still a British citizen as far as the rest of the world is concerned, and as the notes explain, the term used in international law is what they are asking about.

Couldn't agree more - so why do we have to be British?

Because we are British.

Really I don't see the issue. It's a form gathering some information.

We're a tax haven too, mention that & yourself & the top brass suddenly get animated.

Write off one of the last remaining scraps of Manx identity & it's not an issue - just tell the plebs it's because of some non existent international law.

It's a sad fact that this place is now full of people who know the cost of everything & the value of nothing.

It's a sad fact this place is full of pedantic people who can't seem to fill out a simple correctly put together form.

People just magically became Indian the day their new passport arrived and the millions and millions of Indians who still to this day don't have a passport are STILL not Indian! lmao.

They were Indian British subjects. And I note that plenty of them were happy enough of the fact to follow back to Blighty after the Raj had left. To the extent that visa controls had to be introduced.

For those who consider theirselves to be British, let's charge them British Tax Rates!!! Should make up a bit of the deficit.
