Yes, you make a good point there Declan. There was a tone of 'Hey guys, we know this is lunacy but it's great fun' about it.

apart from the naughty dope smokers......

It lacked a bit of a narrative, jumping from one thing to another....

The "lads having a laugh" bit with that fella who fell off was a bit wide of the mark I think.....

The policeman kicking the door on the drugs bust was both hilarious and pathetic.

Heard a clip on MR this morning covering an incident at Ballacraine. Someone at HQ asked someone at Ballacraine how far traffic was backed up, "as far as I can see" came the helpful and specific reply.

I thought it was rather off that all the coppers were TT enthusiasts. Coppers speaking positively about the lack of an all-Island speed limit. No voices of dissent. Total lack of balance. Police shouldn't make political statements without a counter argument being put, but this is OK on the IOM because they were backing the official government line of "It's ok to come here, ride or drive like a moron, because the Isle of Man where you can...".

Go boil your head. The Police came over as caring, sensible and friendly. I thought it a good summary of what goes on during TT, which as was shown, is a magic time for thousands of visitors and locals alike. The Police have always had a great relationship with the bikers, and long may it continue . Their behavior during the accidents ( and the incident with the Sidecar ) was excellent. Very enjoyable hour. By the way, if you hate the TT the way you appear to, take a holiday off- Island while it's on , and hopefully, don't come back. Well done to the Manx ' Bobbies ' and all those who help to made the TT the ' Greatest Motorcycle a Road Races in the World '

Except if you are horribly maimed or killed...then not so much...

Do those blinkers come in any other shade than rose tinted?

But thousands of visitors and locals aren't horribly maimed or killed, so the statement is accurate.

Well as long as a few thousand have a magically time at the expense of those that are maimed or killed, no harm done then...

I despair sometimes with the casual willful ignorance of the human cost of this event.

Tough watch:

A very brave mum indeed. It must be heartbreaking.

Anybody not wanting to see the actual crash should stop the video at 3min 45secs.

The number of accidents involving non-UK nationals has been rising for years in the UK. Many of these accidents caused by not being very familiar with driving on the left.

This can happen to any one of us here, and is why when we invite foreign spectators en masse to the island for TT and MGP, why the mountain road in particular should be one way. Even if the speed limit was 60mph, that still means two vehicles could approach at 120mph, and there is not much you can do about someone approaching on your side of the road.
