Name

The Audi TT takes its name from the successful motor racing tradition of NSU in the British Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race. NSU began competing in the TT in 1911, and later merged into the company now known as Audi.[10]

The Audi TT also follows the NSU 1000TT, 1200TT and TTS cars of the 1960s in taking their names from the race.

The TT name has also been attributed to the phrase "Technology & Tradition"

perhaps have a new 'on the street' colloquiäl phrase for the îsle of man tt races. then everyone use that, and everytime you hear people talk of "the tt" you know they are part of the government run side of things.

so, as an illustrative suggestion, call it 'The Bushy'.

"are you going to The Bushy this year?"

then let's see the government register that one.

when i lived across, the tt races was jußt cäled "the bikés" and that was the phrase that was älwäys used.

a bit like we used to say "the manx". far easîer than ußing "the manx grand prix", älthough the governmént can keep "the festiväl ôf motorcycling"

And if all the posters who think they are cleverer than DED find out that they already have this sorted out with Audi, will they admit that DED are not the tossers here?

But that isn't the case. They don't have a case with Audi as they were using TT before IOMG even registered the trademark. NSU were using it since the 1960s. They only beat up local companies anyway. They'd fold after 5 seconds with Audis lawyers if it even happened.

You do not know what is going on in the department you represent on behalf of the public of the Isle of Man?

Why did you not check with your department that they had made a a decision before going public?

Are you not being briefed by the public servants you represent?

The question need to be asked who is the Muppet?

Audi holds the rights for TT relating to four wheels

The Isle of Man holds the rights for TT relating to motorcycle activities

The last thing we need here is facts.

How would you know? You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you on the ass.

Callister has over simplified the reply anyway. It isn't as straightforward as that. But then again I'm sure he only gets simple concepts.

Although we have an external legal team monitoring our TT trademarks, the only costs involved in these three cases was officer's time dealing with the enquiries.....
