Vicar charged with historic abuse

Yeah it is quite sweeping, but think about how many have been busted for it compared with how many there are. Then think about how many people get busted for speeding and how many people actually speed. Or how many people get busted for possession of marijuana compared with how many people don't. There are thousands and thousands of priests and vicars out there who have assaulted kids and got away with it.

Evidence please.

Evidence of what? That people in positions of supposed trust have been fucking kids and getting away with it for years? Or that the church is fundamentally pro-child abuse? It isn't hard to find.

Something for which there is absolutely no evidence and that I've just made up is this theory - child abuse is encouraged in the church to ensure that they will have a membership in the future. Kids dragged to church find it incredibly boring and shit and grow up with little desire to go back, so by abusing them the vicars or priests send them down a messed up path of destruction and despair, drink and drugs. Eventually they end up looking for salvation and they return to the church, through various charitable programs etc and become born again. Church wins.

Does that work with Radio 1 DJ's too?

Well said TheTeapot. I think it was on our friend Richard Murphy's blog when he was on about Savile. Some hyferlutin academic came on trying to justify what Savile and his ilk do as being simply their natural urges. It was sick to read but hey, it was some top boffin speaking. Murphy closed the blog after the post. It will still be there somewhere.

What that shit and others do and did, they know damned well was wrong and they do it for that very reason. Evil bastards and they have no place in our society.

Oh so he has already been jailed for similar offiencea so it's fine saying what a filthy evil fucker he is. It happens all too often in the church I'm afraid. It's often a magnet for pervs and deviants who are attracted by the veneer of respectability the church provides as a cover for their filthy acts.

I think there's a lot of questions here: When were allegations first made; when were they investigated by the police; were there any concerns about Reverend Gregory while he was here; and why this case has only just come before a Manx court ?

Possibly because the northern cops had first dibs on trial and sentence?
