But there isn't. There is mutual interest to play ball.

They will still have to take it to their respective governments because, of course, the EU cannot usurp the authority of the governments of the member states.

What we call "sovereignty" I believe....

And if they want to protect trade in their countries they will concur. Or they will have their own business lobbies to answer to.

You are just fighting the old war over again. Your problem is that you want to be in the Brussels club of ever closer union and have still not accepted the result. We have managed a lucky escape from it, probably just in time. The EU usurps the authority of the governments of member states with its every move, otherwise it has no function.

Dear me Woolster but you do spout the most awful hairy sphericals from time to time.

I accepted the result the morning after the referendum.

You really do need to get the idea out of your head that the EU is run by Evil Goblins intent on world domination.

That was just a scurrilous rumour put about by the likes of someone untrustworthy like Aaron Banks....

Does the internet posses enough emojis ?

Do Manx Telecom have the server capacity / bandwidth to display them?

Could our power lines catch alight with the hypocrisy?

P.K. you are a star - a fading star, but a star nonetheless.

"A fading star" - laughable! Did you get tips on ridiculous hyperbole from twisted Quilp by chance?

And you sir, are a charlatan, because you just can't admit that you know the UK's standing is much diminished by going it alone because in these days of globalisation it's far better to be in a trading bloc than being, in trading terms, a solitary lame duck...

But hell, we'll get blue passports, that we could have had anyway... Who is the current front runner to produce these passports? Could it be the French?

Simon Coveney has warned that the trading relationship between "The City" and the EU will have to change as a result of brexit.

Good luck with that one....

One of the major economies of the world with the premier finance trading centre is hardly a lame duck. Unfortunately the EU is much more than a trading bloc. It is building a pan-continental state. We may have saved Europe from itself yet again.

Conjecture.

Look positivity is all well and good but when running projects if you couple it with blithely ignoring reality then you are headed for a complete horlicks.

Johnson has put into UK law that there will be no extension of what he termed "vassalage" which ridiculous terminology makes it look very much like a total sop to the stupid. Unfortunately, although the rabid brexiteers will be applauding such a move without understanding what it actually means, Johnson is actually once again boxing the UK into a corner. Because the response of the EU will be to only go for what can be achieved in that timeframe which will just leave far too much open territory for it to be anything other than a shambles.
