Ah, that's a shame, some good people there but what can you do without aircraft!

Not even he can help here.

No loss in my opinion. Leave the air travel to the airlines, not the box office.

I agree but the drip drip drip effect is starting to take it's toll here.

Fingers crossed a reputable airline steps up & at the very least takes up the Belfast route.

Sad for all the staff concerned but serious questions must be asked regarding this kind of business model operating out of Ronaldsway.

I'm sure our Airport Director is already penning a positive spin press release for the morning.

Yes it sad for the staff, but we don't need this type of operation, which sails very close to the wind. Again, only my opinion.

It sort of reminds me of a few car hire companies I have encountered.

Genuinely very sad to hear that news.

Some very good people let down by people who were taking by the piss.

We need someone with commercialism at the core of their aviation expertise to take over the running of the airport, notwithstanding the reasons for Citywing jacking it in, the island is becoming crippled by its lack of air links and is now heavily reliant on the good grace of two operators and business support for a third ! Weekend travel is a joke especially for people who have to get off for work.

Once again (ad nauseum I know LOL ) I quote from the non renumerated report given to the Brown administration in 2006 ,

In fact EasyJet could only operate 5,835 movements per annum compared with the current

level of 29,742 if it were to capture 100 percent of the airports passengers in 2007. To put the

scenario into a more assimilative form, this equates to just 1 return flight a day to 8 destinations.

Whilst this scenario is not realistic in terms of the likely composition of future services, one can

conclude that current passenger volumes are insufficient to support a low cost carrier without

cannibalising most if not all of the existing operators. Furthermore a significant reduction in choice

for the consumer would occur, with much greater travel restrictions.

Not far off was it !!!!, the reasons may be debatable but it was very close to where we are now !

All we seem to have been bothered with since 2006 was development and spending money, no one has had an eye on the core business of an airport, flights and operators !

Not to mention a bit of a pisser for anyone who has shelled out their hard-earned to find out that they may have to wait for god knows how long to see their money back...

Questions need to be asked and lessons learned...not that they will.
