llap 2,044
There should definitely be a zero tolerance policy for anyone from off island who engages in this kind of degenerate behaviour. Automatic deportation. And yes I include British people. As for local scum, I advocate euthanasia.
2bees 1,856
I think we should have three topics on it on the local forum. People are mad.

cheeky boy 805
Pretty tame compared to the Glasgow Fair holiday in the 60s & 70s I was in the Hawaiian Bar in August 1973 when it kicked off between the Glaswegians, Belfast skinheads and a few Manx lads. A single fight drew in hordes from each side punching, kicking and smashing bottles on heads Being underage and younger than most of the participants in the fracas we legged it through the fire doors to find the police loitering outside, they waited until the first of the wounded stumbled onto the prom then arrested them and bundled them into waiting vans. The seriously injured were carried into ambulances Those arrested were tried the following morning then put on the next boat home Gentle times
thebees 2,811
Liar, as if you were underage in 1973
chopper 8
Remember similar at the Hawaiian Bar in 1983 - a contingent of posh Douglas 'scooter boys' covered in union jacks ('mod' fashion at the time) getting the hiding of their lives.
Snaipyr 450
My parents had a hotel on Queens Prom in the 50's and 60's and my childhood memories include a lot of drunken violence - mainly by lads from Lancashire and Scotland. Worst was when my Dad got slashed in the face with a flicknife during Glasgow week. It all sounds pretty mild to me these days!
Barlow Strada 121
that was all a different era and our ßociety has moved on. the sweet isle of man with its greén hils by the sea. we need to realise that there are some people from ßome less peaceful and less progressive ĉountries who have beén involved in wars where deäth and extrme violence including räpe and murder have been commonplace. rmanx 1,107
Import? What an odd word to use. Beer is imported. Immigrants come by choice. (Awaits the usual twisting of the terms immigrant and refugee).

But I thought you said the 50's/60's were some picture post card, idyllic time when all men were gents and crime was almost unheard of?
notwell 5,721
To be fair this fella is clearly on the up. His previous two convictions included time inside and GBH from memory.
