Tarne 2,511
Even so it's not months and months of work. They'll continue to get away with it though
JackCarter 649
Totally unacceptable DOI. Put more staff on the job and WORK a 12 hour day. It's a joke but only as expected for the DOI. Whose land did they buy which caused the new delay? Have they given yet more bunce to the President of Foxdale?

Whose land did they buy which caused the new delay? Have they given yet more bunce to the President of Foxdale? I think they bought the house on the southern corner of the junction of mines road and the main N-S road ( Tackle Box at one time I think.) to widen the junction and give better vision. Unusually, nothing to do with the P o F

Frances 363
how the hell are the people that 'run' that bunch of idiots still in charge - they knew + should have planned what was needed months if not years before work actually started

Almost everything they touch is an unmitigated disaster of epic proportions. I'm sure they couldn't even replace a manhole cover without completely fucking it up and closing half of Douglas for a week. The Department is a complete embarrassment to the Manx public sector and gives government as a whole a bad name. The managers seem to have far too much time on their hands to dream up ever more incompetent ways of wasting vast amounts public money and they laid all the people who actually do the work off! Time to disband the whole lot and put the whole management side out to private contract as well and bin the lot of them off.

Just how the hell do they justify the expense of all that tarmac from Mount Rule to Crosby.? Who uses that road ? Is it now the quick route for CM into work ?
Batmans Mate 31
Check out the signs coming from Douglas to Peel . . . Entering Crosby the sign says "No right turn at Crosby - follow diversion" but there are no diversion signs going in that direction . . . .
paswt 3,414
That's the beauty of it , bit like following a 'diversion sign' and then a few more then signage peters out.
Grianane 147
One of the benefits of closing the whole road is there are no passing cars to see them leaning on their shovels.....
Tarne 2,511
Or to see them not there at all a lot of the time.

We couldn't believe it when 'they' repaired the immediate small area around the cover and left the rest...............so.........a reinstated drain cover and the road around it is left crumbling and letting water into the repaired section and causing it to break down again............you couldn't make it up...........
