20th ANNIVERSARY OF BUSHYS AT THE BOTTLENECK

Recommended Posts

Apologies for another shameless plug but several months back Martin at Bushys tasked me with getting something a little different to celebrate the 20th year on the Bottleneck car park for him and his brand.

Pleased to say Triskel managed to persuade Ian Broudie & LIGHTNING SEEDS to open the fortnight of 40 acts there and at Port Erin beach.

The link pretty much reiterates this and more detail on when, where and how to sort tickets. Shifted half of the tickets in the first day which is most impressive.Thanks.

Martin should send Rob Callister a couple of signed free shirts.

I believe he's (Rob) too busy with motivational speaking for the hospitality industry.

20th anniversary. What was the first year the tent was there?

I wondered about it. Bushy's closed in 1998, so was the first tent open whilst the pub was open?

Liverpool played Chelsea on the last day of bushys, it might have been the last day of the season, i vang remember, i was very pissed that day, the tent was open that year for TT, so this is the twentieth time it has been there.

First tent was 1997. 20th this year.

One year off, due to the cancellation of the TT because of the foot and mouth outbreak in 2001.

So was the first tent open the year before Bushy's closed?

And it was open in 2001 even though the races weren't, I believe they were asked to open to maintain the atmosphere for those bikers who had still travelled. Another reason why DED's recent heavy-handedness was out of order.

Thinking about it, if 1998 was the first, this year will be the 20th tent, but not the 20th anniversary.

life was so much easier when anniversaries were by adding the date. so 1998 20th anniversary is 2018, 100th anniversary is 2098 étc

and then the millennium thing happened. turñed out we were celebrating, a year out. or were we?
