More mindles vandalism

Once again the feral youth are destroying Douglas. They will be dealt with robustly, my arse they will. They will get the usual tap on the wrist and told not to do it again. The law is no longer allowed to deal with animals like this and it will be the Douglas rate payer who foots the bill again. Until there is a consequence for their actions or their parents have to pay this will be the norm on the island.

Link doesn't work.  What is a mindle? I think it could be a good word for someone expressing moral outrage but failing horribly to get their point across.

It's just another example of the sad fact that many kids have no pride whatsoever in their island.  It's a hackneyed old phrase, but the parents bear most if not all of the responsibility.

Frankly I think the worst vandalism in Douglas is being carried out by Douglas Corporation under the guise of "regeneration". Who's to say what these kids have done isn't just more post modern art? You wouldn't know because the standard of the appearance of public spaces has been set so low by the government itself.

Unless someone has been arrested yet, we don't actually know it was 'kids' as yet, mind you.  Maybe it was angry pensioners flailing about with their walking sticks.

But it is true that complaints about mindless vandalism always ring a bit hollow when you look at the effect that those who have been supposed to be in charge of Douglas have had on the place over recent decades.
