Mrs paswt booked to go to London last Sunday  ... cancelled, went Monday  early morning flight, due back today on 1500flight , finally flight cancelled and offered the 1500 flight back on Sunday ( assumption being that there would be no flights tomorrow (Saturday) ) .

BA did pay for the taxi fare back to family in N London and provided a £10 voucher for food during the delay at London City.

I have no idea if de-icer has a shelf life or not.

My aviation technical advisor tells me it does.

A flight to Birmingham was cancelled and a "small number" of flights to Belfast, Liverpool and Manchester were delayed.

A spokesman at Ronaldsway Airport said some departures were held up as planes had to be de-iced.

If de-icer has a shelf life then it should be managed as an SOP.

I wonder if it is or not...?

Seems to be a Monday & Friday return flight starting in June 2018.  That's another 130 odd passengers compared to 30 on Eastern's J41s, so I hope they get security sorted out.  They really do need to be planning for that to be the norm, not the 50 seaters that used to dominate our routes.

The timetable only runs to end of October but I wouldn't mind betting that Eastern will pull that route after October if EasyJet decides to fly after that date.
