Since when was France a Muslim nation? 7% categorised as Muslim in 2016 hardly supports such a statement or has there been a massive increase in the short time since then? After Brexit the UK doesn't qualify, I suppose they will be potential EU members but I can sense some people's blood pressure rising at the thought. This is an obvious outcome to Brexit that is being attempted to be made into an issue, ironically primarily by those who consider the City of Culture standing as an example of what is wrong with the EU.

Since when has been investment in UK towns and cities been a bad thing? Look at the changes in Liverpool that occurred when they became the European Capital of Culture. I have not been to Hull so can't comment on what has happened there (maybe it is a better quality of a sh*thole now). Yes, the European Capital of Culture is a bit of a vanity project, but it does at least get local government to invest in the area which has positive benefits for the residents, local businesses and the economy overall. The local MP's, Councillors etc all want to be associated with their town/city being awarded it so it gets them to actually do something.
pongo
At their most bombastic, they basically hate culture, the Kippers and co. They imagine it's a Marxist conspiracy. They even talk about a Cultural Marxism - a term they have misunderstood and appropriated from academia (although they also hate academia). But when they are playing the victim - then they moan that their culture is being stolen. A pro-Brexit festival of culture would resemble a Loyalist colours parade. They don't know a lot about art or culture, but they know what they hate.

They do seem to confuse "loving and supporting the white race" with "hating and putting down anything other than white people".
