The developer will have gone to a lot of trouble and expense, first with the tender and second with planning. They have pre let/expressions of interest from Travelodge so the only likely reason not to go ahead will be if they, as anchor tenant, withdraws. Is it possible to make it any darker? FFS, The Albert is stuck in the "dark" ages. It escaped the clearance of that area 100 years ago, so maybe the museum should step in and preserve the landlord and his customer in Perspex cases. Or, they could become a novelty attraction for the masses who will come to the new building for modern day entertainment.
