He had longish hair and always wore a head band. His one claim to fame and, as far as I could make out, only topic of conversation, was that he played drums for Motörhead at the Lido. Their guy couldn't play so he was like an impromptu "Is there a drummer in the house?" stand-in. It was a good story and I lapped it up the few few times I heard it. Just not sure it was true. Joey Gallagher !!!.

I think he lived up Broadway or nearby. His girlfriend was a year or two older and I think she was enamoured by the story. I'm not being disparaging and would love the story to be correct. I might have to look up the newspapers to check it out.

They were crackers, although both dead nice really. Pretty sure he claimed to have drummed for someone else too, but I can't remember really. Haven't seen either of them in years.

Lemmy was a true star http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/lemmy-warts-and-all-709492.html “He couldn't even remember my fucking name. I went to meet him on the Isle of Man, where he lived. He'd been kicked out of the church. Was some kind of superintendent in a hospital. He was a creep with a bald head and glasses. I didn't' fancy him much..." Says a lot about the sort of people who escape to the IOM. He’d probably be head of Nobles Hospital now. Or perhaps even an MLC ..
