Jonno Gollow’s Wear Your Old Band T-Shirt To Work Day

Recommended Posts

Some of you might remember Johnny B Goode posting on the forums about the gigs he promoted as Jonno Promotions.  He sadly passed away last year and we are holding an event to remember him and to raise money for charity.

On the 20th March 2018 it will be a year since our friend Jonno Gollow sadly passed away.  Jonno was a massive fan of live music, a music promoter who helped many local artists.

We would like to mark the occasion by having a “Wear your old band t-shirt for work day” on Friday 16th March.

Pay £1 to wear your old band t-shirt to work with proceeds raised from this casual clothes day going to SoundCheck which is a music project that promotes young musicians island wide, producing regular Live Events and Studio Recordings. https://www.facebook.com/pg/SoundcheckIOM/

If you would like to join in please join and share this group and encourage your workplace to take part. https://www.facebook.com/groups/jonnosoldbandtshirtday/

We hope to make this an annual event and would like as many people as possible to be involved. We would be delighted if your workplace would like to join in. Any money raised can be donated through the JustGiving page.  https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jonnosoldbandtshirtday

Let’s remember Jonno, support local young musicians and have some fun.

This is a lovely idea. :)

...I do however have a slight problem with this concept as all of my band T-shirts 'shrank in the wash' (nothing to do with my 2 stone weight gain).

You could wear a string vest and say that it’s a Pierre Schaeffer T-shirt.

I don't know why, but the mention of string has put this string quartet firmly in mind. This is a bit strange.

Just listened to all of that. Amazing.  It needs to be performed in TT week while we have the helicopters sitting there doing nothing. Between dropping seriously injured bikers off at the hospital of course. They could hover over Douglas bay and the quadrophonic effects could be achieved in the Villa no probs. Sweet.

This seems to be the most common reply. An inadvertent side affect might be lots of music fans suddenly starting a diet after trying on their old t-shirts. :-)

I don't work and I don't have an old band Tshrt but I do have an old Chasfest T-shirt and I'll be wearing that on the 20th just in memory of a great guy who did so much for the local music scene.  Nice one Manxman27.
