Hooper knows on which side his bread is buttered. He lacks the talent or the intellect to go it alone.

He's not up against much competition unless the Green Party field a candidate there. As Cretney steps down and nobody with an IQ above 30 is in the field to replace him, the Green Party is going to become the island's largest party: they may even take enough seats in the House of Keys to gain a working majority. This is probably why there have been almost panicked efforts recently to give even more power to the Legislative Council and fill it up with shills.

Sounds like you’ve done it many times Howard, the alt accounts that is.

Why unfortunately? Did you want it to be true?

The irony

What stands out there too Roger...is where have all these posters and politically based debates gone...?

Zak Hall never even turned up for some Tynwald sittings if my memory serves me? Disciplined for it too, maybe?

But he did the decent thing and resigned. About 19 others should do the same.

Actually he didn't.  He was sacked from his Departmental Membership at Education (as was Houghton) because he failed to support the Government policy (and was sacked from Lib Vann for disrespecting Karran at the same time). He then said " his focus will be his family, and thereafter the people of Onchan".   As I pointed out he still had another job as a pilot and presumably could spend more time on that with no departmental responsibilities.  He was offered another post later in the year and turned it down presumably because he could use the time more lucratively.  He did decide to go for the 30% later in his term however.

If you mean that he didn't stand again for the Keys that is true.  But it might have more to do with realising he wouldn't get back in without being on Karran's coattails.

I registered on that site about the same time that I registered on here as I wanted to learn more about local politics. I have to say I think I’ve learned more here which I’m surprised about given that posters don’t post under their real names. Some of the things said on that site by people using their own Facebook accounts are incredibly ignorant and petty and that Corrin character comes across as a complete crackpot. I thought that this forum would be worse for those sort of vile personal attacks and pointless and petty bickering because of the anonymity but actually it isn’t.

Jesus - it must be bad:D

One of the few good things about Facebook is that it seems to have conclusively disproved the nonsense that if everyone on the internet was forced to post under their own identity, the world would be a better and more civil place.  Even those who used to demand this (who were usually the powerful wanting to attack the vulnerable) have realised that they are not going to convince anyone.

He did use my phrase "Peter the Patsy" in Tynwald, so he was quite high in my estimation

I didn't particularly notice vader when he was knocking about these forums, certainly no more than any other poster, but since this Facebook thing and with him posting as himself I have to say he comes over as a bit of a silly billy.

TBH we all know JC is a twat and anything he says should be taken with a pinch of salt.

When I stood for election he was all over me like a cheap suit then when I didn't win (yes I came third out of 3 :) ) he was soo sympathetic etc.

I then challenged him one day on this views on the MSPCA and ever since I'm a troll and blocked from his page LMAO

He even threatened to sue me.

I find here more interesting and more on the ball when it comes to seeing peoples views on politics however the constant childish bickering is very draining and I wish those that partake in it would just cease.
