Smart Meters are coming

All of it Andy.

They don't need a phone for the supplier to contact their meter by GSM

GSM will only work in an area where there's a signal. I'd love MUA to install the same in my own & in-law's house. I have to go to the top of the garden to get a signal.

Well, why wouldn't they? After all, we are the centre of the universe when it comes to global communications. We have world class resilient communications... http://www.whereyoucan.com/Locate/Telecoms.aspx

Can we not just use the £18m to pay down more of the debt, and revisit this when it is paid off?

Now look Derek I have always been a fan of yours, but don't come on here suggesting government behave responsibly with our money, you know that isn't going to happen !!

Make the tea? Iron my shirts?

Nope, you'll have to do that yourself or hire in the help but there are many things coming your way good and bad...if you want out, generate your own leccy.

Indeed.

They'll probably install it at the top of your garden then.......

:D:D:D .... that's the best thing I've read for years.... the MUA don't even know where the manhole cover is to "flush" our mains!

Seriously... 18 million???

Most industrials require KVa meters...phase variations etc.

This is quite interesting...

..or how a predicted MEA £18m might soon balloon.

Are they optional? I mean, if you don't want one can you just tell them to piss off?

The pre-payment key meters will show you what you have used in money and the MUA wont even have to send you a bill!

Mind you, the queues at the top up machines will be worse than lottery night!
