A bit of an unnecessary outlay I would think with their catalogue sales system being so good?

I agree they are good.

But setting up a retail outlet would be madness.

( unless they sell food )

Explain this then...

https://jobs.screwfix.com/location/douglas-jobs/5724/3042225-9782170-3042237/4

The location shows just off Allan street in Douglas

So the manager can expect to eventually earn nearly as much as a postman. Be careful of the rush.

As good as Screwfix are, I don't think they would get a foot in the door. Plenty in that field already.

Well Jackson's were encouraged when we have more garages than we could shake a stick at!

Same owners. A bit different. Eh?

There is a high level of integration across brands within Kingfisher Group. Used to have shares but sold them about 5 years ago when I decided finally that retail in general was a bad place to be invested. If they want a Screwfix here, I don't know why they don't just start it in a corner of B&Q. Plenty of underused area in there nowadays by the look of things. Could even put it in a corner, segregated with its own entrance if they wanted. In the event it takes off like a house on fire they could find separate premises later. That's what I'd do if I was planning the startup, but then it's a public company so it's only shareholders' money which doesn't matter.

As are dewalt and black and decker. It doesn't mean they are the same quality.

Are you suggesting it's coincidence that they are both shite?
