woolley 16,869 Posted October 6 Yes there was that view and it was widely held. It was the peak of the boom, and immigration and development were at a high. The legislation was passed as the government's response to this pressure, although I don't believe there was ever the serious intention to trigger it. It was a safety valve and a sop to the unwashed.

No more NIMBY,s 7 Posted October 12 Do you think there is even the slightest chance of any kind of workable solution being found when you have Mr Bean running the consultation and the usual small few property moguls ( that’s as pc as I get) responding and lobbying. Rather than having our "premier" municipalities setting rates far above outlying areas. I know they claim to have amenities etc to run but when you look at the money squandered by the Corpy and Ramsey....unfit.
Numbnuts 363 Posted October 13 I'm expecting rates to rise and will be gob smacked if they don't. The current rate and seemingly the new system are very unfair to many . But hey powers don't care about unfairness just what brings them more money and provide less services .
hissingsid 2,665 Posted October 13 MR Bean...C.Thomas who incidentally is drawing very poor audiences, unsurprisingly. I think number of residents in house or apartment should be given consideration.
