mizuno86 0
Does anyone have this service? how do you find the speeds? I have had it for a few weeks now and its up and down to say the least, the router syncs at 81-86mbps but a speedtest online seems to be around 41Mbps using an ethernet cable I have contacted provider they seem fairly happy its fine.. link below to the latest speedtest https://manx.speedtestcustom.com/result/4ce0a490-3ec9-11e9-8134-a9bba1c902c8 any help in how to possibly sort this out would be great
ballaughbiker 1,816
Doing better than that with 4G across. If it's a constant speed rather than a snapshot and you've ruled out local causes, I'd be asking more questions of MT
mizuno86 0
what kind of local causes could it be? I 'am on sure, my phone line is also with sure so I guess they have to sort the issues out with the line
Rab 16
I am with Sure, on the same service as you. My router syncs at about 60mbps, and tests show usually about 50mbps download, and 10mbps upload. Try https://www.speedtest.net/ for your tests, rather than using a Manx Telecom speed check. joeyconcrete 171
200Mbps service - tends to peak around 175/180Mbps. I have a Draytek 2860, using the MT supplier Thomson as a modem. Service is reliable enough. Every so often it may get flaky, but getting a new WAN IP seems to fix it.

Can I ask what you pay for that and is it unlimited ? I assume that is fibre optic, not copper ? Edited March 10, 2019 by dilligaf
joeyconcrete 171
It’s over copper (~200m from ISAM). £46pm https://www.manxtelecom.com/personal/internet/broadband-tariffs/ultima-v-plus
mizuno86 0
I 'am still waiting for MT to come round and test the line, it seems to drop around 4 times a day seems to happen more often at night
