Wonderful piece of design here:

As I see it there are 3 options to get rid of this puddle

1 Dig a channel across the walkway to drain onto the beach

2 Dig an underground drain feeding to the beach

3 dig up the new pavement so the puddle can drain back onto the road

Whichever is the most expensive will be the one chosen.

The team that created that is on its way to Richmond Hill.

The thing is , which makes it worse , they weren't supposed to touch the walkway but due to lack of infrastructure planning had to re route pipes onto the walkway so it has to be made good which of course wasn't included in any costings . And so it goes on !

You missed option 4 :

Rectify the problem by relocating and redesigning the crossing area, only to find once redesigned the water gathers in exactly the same place,  because it’s the lowest point within the crossing.

option 6, The ancient Viking, 'Eh Boy', Ellan Vannin, mooniey veg, wishing well uncovered by skilled and well planned ancient monument archeoligists after a 10 year research project by specialist teams from around the world who could speak Russian and who all rode Harley Davison's ice cream specials.

Millions of visitors will come to see this marvel, arriving by helicopter via the diesel driven steam/electric railway after a trip round the island on the new wind driven, green ferry and travel from the new cruise terminal on a horse drawn tram that starts in Willaston and tours the hot spots of the island before they get off at the Prom roadworks diversion and walk to this ancient marvel to hang a bag of good wishes bought from a joke shop, on the prom rails. Well they would if any of those things were useable.

That link isn't a shareable one, or at least not for me. Could of course be from a group i'm blocked from.

It’s not from a group I’m in. Who knows how or why FB doesn’t allow some shares but does allow others

Went through the ballafletcher traffic lights this morning, 8 DOI staff there for a small drainage job. 2 were working & 6 we’re looking in a hole!!

Unbelievable waste of resources

things have got better then, 10 years ago all 8 would have been looking in the hole and none working. Lets celebrate a step in the right direction

  • 2 weeks later...

Cycled along the prom last night....along the bit in front of M&S crossing...presumably the finished bit.  It really doesn’t look worth all that effort and money. I’m coming round to thinking they’ve taken a fine Victorian prom and ruined it.
