There was a website that used them. Some Isle of Man history website or something. I can't find it, so maybe it isn't there anymore.

Are you thinking of the Alliance for Building Conservation Buildings at Risk articles?  Those are by a variety of authors and seem to be normally put up a few weeks after they appear in the paper.  They're normally just scans of the print article, though it's possible the ABC retain the copyright as well (I wondered if Cringle did with his, and that's why they don't appear online).

I remember him as a bus conducter, on the school bus, then as a Agriculture contractor, then a copper, then as a captain of the tug boats, and the charter boat,  he seems to like a challenge.
