Bus Drivers friend or foe

Recommended Posts

Not really  a go at bus drivers  but   Was going across the stone bridge on the quay side approx 4:15 with a bus ahead of me No 37 up on the sign. He/ She see's a colleague heading down Bank Hill heading towards home (bus depot) and decides to let them off the halt sign and ease there way. Not a problem as such but there are five car's ahead of the bus, by the time the car's had filtered off the stop sign traffic had built up to the round about by the abandoned tyre fitters causing the traffic to come to a standstill and people becoming Quite irate. Seem's the sticker please be considerate to buses only works one way. And is it just me or did the tickers used to say that it was a traffic regulation that you had to let the bus out or just Longtail doing as he please without checking legality

Car drivers should always give way to a bus. It's just common sense.

Yes I agree that they should always let a bus pullout into the carriageway. I always do. That is it though..Sounds as though the driver could not give two fu*** about those he held up, as long as his mate thought he was great for doing this.

Maybe he just wanted a look at, or a go on “ the lawnmower”

You should read the OP again. Seems like it was more than “seconds”

Yes held up about a dozen cars, just to let one vehicle go. Manners make the the man. That is however not inthe bus drivers manual.

Nor are there any procedures regarding the lawnmower.

How could you know that, unless you were in the same vehicle as the original poster?

Some seem to be waiting until you get within a gnats knacker hair of them, pull out and then signal, making a big thing about stopping because ' it's your fault'.

Several single deckers now pull into bus stops and leave their arse end out in the middle of the road, to hold up traffic - again, waiting for someone to dare to pass before pulling out at the same time as indicating, expecting you to stop half way along the side of the bus so they can pull out.

They seem to be desperate to get into some sort of collision, possibly to claim compensation and an early retirement.
