Bit of perspective.

PAVA is a prohibited weapon under s.17b of the 1947 Firearms Act. Section 5 in the UK. It is innthe same category as a machine gun.

He has got off lightly,

This certainly is a bit of perspective. But that last sentence - not even a hint of irony.

It would be so easy to knock up an equally-effective incapacitant from one's kitchen cupboard.

Which is ludicrous, Pava is not a lethal weapon, it's a temporary incapacitating agent.

The legislation was presumably drafted by the same sort of people as our locals who'd try and classify fireworks as being high explosives in order to ban them? Completely OTT.

Its not PAVA itself that is the issue, its the delivery system that makes it prohibited.

Derek, it is threads such as this that your experience is valued. If you don't mind me saying, your input so far hasn't been particularly reassuring

So the cops can’t win then.

When they apply the law people moan.

When they don’t apply the law people moan.
