I'm sure there was an article on iomtoday recently about her being appointed to post, Roger?

She’s no longer at Quinn Legal, and yes, from time to time, acting or temporary Judicial Officers are appointed, and described as Deputy High Bailiff or Deemster, depending on which jurisdiction they sit. There is a panel.

This case started at a time Jane Hughes had become High Bailiff and Chris Arrowsmith had not been appointed.

Louise sits in family cases, has done for some time, but they’re heard in private, so you won’t have noticed.

Quinns still have her on their website which seems a bit sloppy.  Appointing temporary judges from the panel is more usual for Deemsters, but this was an unusual case and they may not have wanted to divert the HB and DHB away from their usual workload of shorter cases.  Byrne's current expertise is family law, (which explains the lack of media reports) but she does have some background in criminal.

Yes but people can’t seem to stand this bloke so they expect all due legal process to go out of the window and they want him lynched.

Indeed. There do seem to be a lot of jealous people who hate the rich. I find it ironic because most of these bitter and jealous people are themselves very comfortable in life but are too self-absorbed and greedy to realise it. The upper middle class are often envious of those above them and hate those below them on the economic ladder. I thoroughly despise the upper middle class -- biggest demographic of tossers ever.

The bottom line is the roads close at a given time and it is the publics responsibility to know that.

He will have known the road was closing.  If someone steps out then he should have stopped and had a quick word.  Or if in doubt got off at the tuen before hand.

He hasnt helped himself.

That isn't the bottom line. The bottom line is he has been found innocent. The RULE OF LAW is what matters, not your uneducated and ill-informed opinion.

Looks like road closures do not apply to Bus Vannin either. No 4. bus carried on through the road closed signed at the Eairy this week, got stuck and had to be rescued.

Ah...you’re unfamiliar with Longworth’s Law.
