2112
A far better Callister to have represented Tynpotwald. Also tried to reform Lego but thwarted by the establishment. An excellent local broadcaster and easily the best Mannin Line presenter - he had no problem, dealing with Dorothy from Peel, and Marge from Dougla RIP
Nellie
Very sad news. I hope that MR remember to give this little gem a run out..... https://youtu.be/DJmbPjWB570
woolley
Yes. Authoritative broadcaster with gravitas. Not many left. RIP.
On The Bus
Very sad news. RIP David. He was one of the best presenters Manx Radio have had (for current affairs). He was a good old fashioned journalist that knew how to research the subject, ask probing questions, and just do it in a way that was interesting to the listener. He will be missed.

I'd love to have heard his comments when he got back to Douglas Head.

Shake me up Judy
Yes. An excellent broadcaster at Manx Radio. They certainly don't have anyone like him now, and that's precisely what's wrong up there. I wish he'd have stuck to radio though. He went into politics with some reforming zeal but the old boys club soon had him turned round. ecobob
I really liked him. He had such an easy way with him no matter what he was doing and his voice was so easy on the ears. A sad loss to MR and to everyone else. 3

He didn't join LegCo till he was 72 and mostly retired from broadcasting, and he was quite clear that he was only standing for one term and he was mainly doing it to try to get LegCo reform through. He didn't succeed but there's a limit to what one person can do when everyone else just wants to keep things as they are,
